Over 3 Million Filipinos Register for 2026 Barangay and SK Elections

More than three million applicants are now seeking to become registered voters for the upcoming November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Nationwide Registration Figures

The Comelec has received a total of 3,137,948 applications for voter registration across all regions from October 20, 2025, to March 14, 2026. This surge in applications highlights significant public interest in the local elections.

Regional Breakdown of Applicants

Calabarzon leads with the highest number of applicants at 537,847 individuals, followed by Central Luzon with 360,564 and the National Capital Region (NCR) with 322,054. In contrast, the regions with the fewest applicants include:

Additionally, the Register Anywhere/Anytime Program (RAP) has recorded 6,518 applicants, showcasing the flexibility of modern registration methods.

Registration Timeline and Goals

The voter registration period nationwide, except in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), began on October 20, 2025, and will continue until May 18, 2026. Comelec aims to enlist four million individuals by the end of this period.

For Barmm, voter registration is scheduled from May 1 to May 18, 2026, with an estimated 100,000 projected applicants. This staggered approach ensures comprehensive coverage across all regions.
