Over 4.1 Million Filipinos Register for 2026 Barangay and SK Elections
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced that more than 4.1 million applicants are now seeking to become registered voters in time for the November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE). This significant surge in registration highlights widespread civic engagement across the Philippines.
Nationwide Registration Figures
According to Comelec data, a total of 4,164,098 applications for voter registration have been received across all regions during the period from October 20, 2025, to April 18, 2026. The registration drive aims to enlist as many as four million individuals, with the current numbers already exceeding this target, indicating robust public participation in the electoral process.
Top Regions by Applicant Count
Calabarzon leads the nation with the highest number of applicants, recording 680,795 individuals who have submitted their registration forms. Following closely are Central Luzon with 460,166 applicants and the National Capital Region with 429,304 applicants. These regions demonstrate particularly strong voter interest ahead of the upcoming local elections.
Other regions showing high voter registration activity include:
- Bicol Region: 251,827 applicants
- Central Visayas: 246,815 applicants
- Davao Region: 202,367 applicants
Register Anywhere/Anytime Program and Timeline
Meanwhile, the innovative Register Anywhere/Anytime Program has attracted 10,017 applicants, offering flexible registration options to enhance accessibility. The voter registration period nationwide, except in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), began on October 20, 2025, and will continue until May 18, 2026. This extended timeline allows ample opportunity for more Filipinos to participate in the democratic process.
