Police Operations Net Two High-Priority Fugitives
The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) successfully apprehended two most wanted individuals during separate operations conducted in Aklan and Iloilo on November 20 and 21, 2025. These arrests form part of the police force's intensified campaign to track down persons with outstanding warrants throughout the region.
Kalibo Attempted Murder Suspect Captured
On November 21, 2025, at 12:58 p.m., law enforcement officers from the Kalibo Municipal Police Station arrested a 20-year-old individual known as alias Dandan in Kalibo, Aklan. The suspect, who was single and resided in the same barangay, was listed as the ninth provincial most wanted person in Aklan.
The arrest was executed by virtue of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 2, 6th Judicial Region, Kalibo, Aklan on November 19, 2025, for the charge of attempted murder. The court had set bail for the case at ₱120,000.
Miagao Farmer Arrested for Child Protection Law Violation
In a separate operation a day earlier, joint tracker teams comprising the Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas and the Miagao Municipal Police Station apprehended alias Dodong Larion, a 70-year-old married farmer.
The arrest occurred at 4:30 p.m. on November 20, 2025, in Barangay Guibongan, Miagao, Iloilo. Larion, a resident of Barangay Palaca in the same municipality, was taken into custody based on a warrant for violation of Republic Act 7610, specifically Section 5(b).
The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 67, 6th Judicial Region, Guimbal, Iloilo on November 19, 2025. The suspect was identified as the ninth most wanted person in Iloilo Province and the fourth in Miagao municipality. Bail for his case was set at ₱200,000.
Police Leadership Commends Successful Operations
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of PRO 6, praised the operating units for their effective and timely actions that led to the capture of both suspects.
"These arrests reflect PRO 6's strong commitment to delivering justice and protecting the vulnerable," Ligan stated. "Whether the crime involves violence, abuse, or any threat to our communities, we will relentlessly pursue and apprehend those who attempt to evade the law. Our people deserve peace and safety, and PRO 6 will continue working tirelessly to uphold these."
