The City Government of Lapu-Lapu has officially announced the start of its annual business permit processing period for 2026. The City Treasurer's Office (CTO) will begin accepting applications and renewals on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Processing Schedule and Venue
All transactions for new business permits, renewals, delivery permit applications, and the issuance of delivery stickers will be centralized at the Hoopsdome in Barangay Gun-ob. This move aims to streamline services for the business community.
The CTO has set an extended daily schedule to accommodate more applicants. Processing will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. This period will run until January 20, 2026, giving business owners a little over two weeks to complete their transactions.
Avoid Penalties with Complete Requirements
The City Treasurer's Office issued a strong reminder to all business owners and applicants to ensure the timely submission of their complete application packages. Failure to do so may result in penalties and unnecessary processing delays.
"All business owners and applicants are advised to prepare the necessary requirements and process their applications within the given period to avoid penalties and inconvenience," the CTO stated in its official announcement released on Friday, January 2, 2026.
For new business applications, the city requires several key documents. Based on the official city website, applicants must prepare:
- A duly filled-up Unified Application Form
- Valid DTI, SEC, or CDA Registration
- An occupancy permit (if the applicant is the lessor of the business space)
- A contract of lease (if renting or leasing the business space)
- A Community Tax Certificate (CEDULA)
