The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 (LRT-1 and LRT-2) will offer free rides on June 12 as part of the commemoration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day.
Free Ride Schedules
For LRT-2, free rides will be implemented from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. According to the train management, passengers still need to tap their beep cards at the gates as per the normal process, but no fare will be deducted. For those using single journey tickets, they can go to teller booths to obtain free tickets.
Meanwhile, LRT-1 will continue its regular operations under a holiday schedule. The first trips will start from Dr. Santos and Fernando Poe Jr. stations at 5:00 AM, while the last trips will be at 9:30 PM from Dr. Santos and 9:45 PM from Fernando Poe Jr. Station.
Support for Independence Day
Transport agencies are also joining the celebration of Independence Day by providing free rides as a token of gratitude to passengers and in support of the nation's historic commemoration.
