Despite being directly impacted by Typhoon Tino, police forces in Central Visayas continued their relentless anti-criminality campaign, resulting in the arrest of 183 individuals involved in various crimes throughout the region.
Week-Long Law Enforcement Operations
From November 2 to November 8, 2025, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 launched comprehensive operations targeting illegal drugs, loose firearms, wanted persons, and illegal gambling activities. The enforcement drive demonstrated remarkable resilience as officers maintained their duties despite challenging weather conditions brought by the typhoon.
Major Drug Bust: P4.4 Million Shabu Seized
In their crackdown on illegal substances, authorities apprehended 84 drug suspects and confiscated approximately 647.67 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P4.4 million. The successful operations significantly disrupted local drug distribution networks across Central Visayas.
Firearms and Wanted Persons Campaign
The police campaign against loose firearms led to the arrest of 14 individuals and the seizure of 36 unlicensed firearms, 3 explosives, and 204 bullets of various calibers. Simultaneously, officers successfully served warrants of arrest, capturing 41 accused individuals facing various criminal charges.
Among those apprehended, 11 were classified as most wanted persons, while the remaining 30 had pending arrest warrants for minor cases. The coordinated effort demonstrated PRO-7's commitment to pursuing both high-profile and routine criminal cases.
Illegal Gambling Crackdown Continues
Despite the adverse weather conditions, police maintained pressure on illegal gambling operations, arresting 44 gamblers and confiscating P7,813 in gambling money. The operations showed that law enforcement activities would not be deterred by natural disturbances.
