ATOM Calls for Sen. Alan Cayetano's Resignation Over National Embarrassment
ATOM Demands Resignation of Sen. Alan Cayetano

The August Twenty-One Movement (ATOM), led by President Volt Bohol, has openly called for the resignation of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, citing his embarrassing image overseas. Along with the demand, Bohol criticized Cayetano's camp for allegedly using the name of the late Senator Ninoy Aquino and the Yellow movement. According to Bohol, Cayetano's camp employs the Laban sign and the history of resistance against the Marcos dictatorship as a strategy to romanticize his current opposition to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration.

The group emphasized that Aquino, an opposition leader imprisoned during the dictatorship, fought against fascism, corruption, and lack of accountability. In contrast, Cayetano and his supporting senators are linked to the Dutertes, with Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte and allies backing Cayetano's bid for Senate President.
