Contractor Vows Cooperation in Angeles Building Collapse

The contractor responsible for the collapsed building in Angeles City has pledged full cooperation with the ongoing investigation. The Golden Years Construction, through its legal counsel, lawyer Nicolai Manguerra, stated that the firm will fully support authorities in determining the cause of the tragedy.

Contractor's Commitment

“We will fully cooperate,” Manguerra said, adding that the company has already begun reaching out to the victims and their families. The contractor aims to coordinate with the city government's fact-finding committee and assist in all efforts to uncover the factors that led to the structure's collapse.

Building Owner's Response

Ernest Jackson Lim, the building owner, also assured the public that assistance will be extended to all affected individuals. Lawyer Willie Rivera, representing Lim, emphasized that the owner's camp is prepared to help those injured, families who lost loved ones, and others impacted by the incident. “We want the victims to know that we are always here,” Rivera stated.

Rivera further noted that they would conduct a parallel investigation while cooperating with the city's government-led probe. The dual approach aims to ensure transparency and accountability in determining the cause of the collapse.

Rising Death Toll

As of press time, the number of fatalities from the incident has climbed to seven. Authorities continue to assess the situation and provide updates as rescue and recovery operations progress.
