The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla has denied that a warrant of arrest from the International Criminal Court (ICC) has been issued against Senator Christopher 'Bong' Go and two former police officials. According to the Secretary, authorities have not received any documents from the ICC regarding the Senator and the police officers.
This statement follows the revelation by Davao City Representative Paolo 'Pulong' Duterte on his social media that he has a reliable source indicating that ICC warrants have been issued against Go and the police officials. Duterte also questioned the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., accusing it of using the ICC against their political opponents.
Remulla emphasized that he has spoken with Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida, who confirmed that they have not received any documents. He also noted that the Philippine National Police has not received any documents concerning the ICC warrants.
It can be recalled that a warrant of arrest was previously issued against Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa for his involvement in the bloody war on drugs during the term of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
