Farmer Wounded in Bolo Attack in Argao

A 54-year-old farmer sustained multiple bolo wounds on his face, head, and body after an attack by his cousin on Friday, May 29, 2026, at around 4:45 PM in Sitio Sutil, Barangay Tulang, Argao town.

Victim and Suspect Identified

The victim was identified as Ricardo Languita Panerio, a resident of the area. The suspect was identified as Rosendo Revillas Panerio, alias “Rody,” 49 years old.

Investigation Details

According to the investigation by the Argao Municipal Police Station, the suspect was already drinking with his friends at a waiting shed. As the victim was walking to gather grass for his livestock, the suspect called him over to join them for a drink. After the victim had one shot, the suspect suddenly drew his weapon and shot at the victim.

Ricardo noticed the attack and managed to grab the weapon. However, the suspect then took the bolo that was tucked into the victim's waist and used it to hack the victim repeatedly. As a result, the victim sustained multiple hack wounds on the head, face, and other parts of his body.

The victim was able to retrieve his bolo and fled toward the forest.
