“I am seriously considering it, preparing for that possibility,” Hontiveros said. She thanked the Akbayan Partylist and other groups for launching initiatives such as the “Risa Na!” program, which signals support for her possible candidacy. “Thank you very much to those who expressed such confidence in me,” she added.

Hontiveros emphasized the importance of selecting the strongest and most suitable candidate from their ranks to compete in the election. “I think it is really necessary that we, from our ranks, have the strongest, best, most attractive, and hopeful offer to our countrymen,” she stated. She expects their group to achieve unity and finalize a candidate by late 2026 or early 2027.
