Over 70 employees of the Cebu Provincial Government were officially promoted and regularized in their respective positions on the first day of June at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.
Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro personally led the appointment of these workers on Monday, June 1, 2026. According to the governor, she takes great pride in granting these promotions in recognition of the employees' years of service and dedication.
"I just want to let you know that here in the Province, our purpose is what we can contribute for the development of Cebu..." part of Governor Baricuatro's statement to the employees.
The governor added that most of the staff had been waiting for this opportunity for a long time.
Among the officials who received their promotions and permanent positions were Provincial Accountant Janet Guaren and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Marirose Lopez.
On the other hand, the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City, is one of the offices under the provincial government that recorded the highest number of newly hired employees.
Among the officials added to the facility were new prison guards, a prison nurse, an assistant warden, and an administrative officer.
