Impeachment vs VP Sara should proceed now that Senate leadership is stable — Rep. Acidre
Impeachment vs VP Sara must proceed, says Rep. Acidre

House Committee on Higher and Technical Education Chairperson and TINGOG Party-list Representative Jude Acidre stated that the impeachment process against Vice President Sara Duterte should now proceed without delay, given that the Senate leadership has stabilized.

Acidre: Delaying impeachment harms public trust

According to Acidre, prolonging the process would not benefit the Filipino people, as public trust in the government and democratic institutions hinges on the resolution of this case. He emphasized that differing opinions among Filipinos are normal in a democracy, but these should not be used as a reason to delay, disrupt, or politicize the hearings.

The lawmaker stressed that the important thing is for the case to move forward in a fair, orderly, and credible manner. This would allow both sides to present their arguments and evidence, and answer the public's questions.

Impeachment must be based on evidence, not noise

Acidre reminded everyone that impeachment should be based on evidence and truth, rather than on noise, pressure, or politicking. He said this issue is not only about the fate of one official, but about proving to the people that the country's laws and institutions function in a calm and just manner.
