The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is set to significantly bolster healthcare services in the region with the upcoming turnover of 84 Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to various Local Government Units (LGUs). This major event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) grounds.
Preparations and Key Personalities
In anticipation of the significant event, Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya has mobilized key city departments to ensure its success. Secretary to the Mayor, Atty. Jose Marty Go, is leading the coordination efforts. The ceremony is expected to be graced by high-profile officials, including DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla and PCSO chairman, retired Judge Felix Reyes, alongside other board members, national agency representatives, and local chief executives.
Go emphasized that comprehensive preparations are underway, with a strong focus on security and traffic management to guarantee a smooth ceremony. The Bacolod City Police Office, led by Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica, and the Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Department, under Atty. Reuben Mikhail Sabig, are actively involved.
Logistics and National Program Context
Over the weekend, personnel from various city offices supervised the ingress and positioning of the vehicles at the BCGC grounds. This initiative is a crucial part of the PCSO's nationwide Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program, which aims to distribute a total of 1,724 PTVs to LGUs across the Philippines.
According to PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, this effort aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to prioritize the health and well-being of Filipinos. To date, 1,540 vehicles have already been successfully turned over to beneficiary LGUs.
Enhancing Emergency Medical Response
Each donated vehicle is fully equipped to handle medical emergencies, featuring essential supplies such as a stretcher, oxygen tank, wheelchair, first aid kit, blood pressure monitor, and a medicine cabinet. This donation is poised to dramatically improve emergency response capabilities and patient mobility services throughout the Negros Island Region and Western Visayas, bringing critical healthcare support closer to the people.
