A 45-year-old man was shot to death by two unidentified assailants in Hacienda Buenaswerte, Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on April 29, 2026.

Details of the Shooting Incident

Records from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) revealed that the victim, a resident of Barangay San Andres Bonifacio, was found inside a small hut (bahay kubo) with multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body. He was rushed to Cadiz District Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators stated that two unidentified male suspects committed the crime and immediately fled in an unknown direction. The Cadiz City Police Station is conducting a hot pursuit operation and a follow-up investigation to identify and arrest the suspects. Coordination with nearby police stations has been established.

Drowning Incident in Moises Padilla

In a separate incident, a 21-year-old man drowned in Binalbagan River in Sitio Lemonsito, Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on April 29. According to Nocppo records, the victim went fishing with eight companions around 7 p.m. At around 8:30 p.m., his companions noticed he was missing. A rescue operation was conducted, and the victim's body was later found beside the riverbank. The cadaver was brought to L. Nalagon Funeral Home for a post-mortem examination.
