The Mandaue Ball Club (MBC) secured the top spot in the semifinals after defeating Power Forty, 109-90, recently in the Power 60 Friendship Cup basketball tournament at the Pardo Sports Complex in Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City.
With the victory, MBC improved to a perfect 5-0 record, clinching the No. 1 position in the playoffs of this tournament for senior citizens.
Alex Abano led the charge with 35 points, while Fermin Antigua added 21 points. For Power Forty, which dropped to 2-2, Cabrera scored 26 points in the losing effort.

In another game, the Pardo Basketball Club (PBC) kept its semifinal hopes alive by defeating Lagtang Basketball Gold (LBG), 88-78. PBC improved to 3-1, while LBG fell to 3-2.
In the third game, FUBA dominated the Talisay Basketball Association (TBA), 91-69.
