The Ateneo de Davao University has officially retired the No. 2 jersey of Rene Baterbonia, one of two Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles who tragically drowned during a recent team building activity in Aurora.
This means that no player from Ateneo de Davao will ever be allowed to use the No. 2 jersey again, honoring Baterbonia's memory permanently.
Earlier, the university renamed its gym as the Rene Bobet Baterbonia Covered Courts (RBBCC) as a tribute to Baterbonia, who was one of their alumni products.
