Nearly Half a Million in Drugs Seized in Cebu City

Police in Cebu City confiscated nearly half a million pesos worth of illegal drugs in two separate raids on Wednesday, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

First Raid

In the first operation, conducted around 2:00 PM in Barangay Tisa, authorities arrested a 45-year-old man identified as alias 'Jojo.' Seized from his possession were 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately PHP 340,000.

Second Raid

Later that evening, around 8:00 PM, a second raid in Barangay Labangon resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old woman, alias 'Mila.' Police recovered 20 grams of shabu worth around PHP 136,000.

Police Statement

Police Lieutenant Colonel John Doe, spokesperson for the Cebu City Police Office, stated that the operations were part of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs. He urged the public to continue cooperating with authorities by reporting any suspicious activities.

The suspects are currently detained and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
