Alex Eala Loses to Iva Jovic in HSBC Championships

Filipina tennis star Alexandra “Alex” Eala's campaign at the HSBC Championships has ended after a defeat in the Round of 16. Eala lost to Iva Jovic with a score of 6-2, 6-2 in a match that lasted only 1 hour and 16 minutes.

Jovic took control early in the match, and the Filipina tennis player was unable to recover until the final set. Despite the loss, Eala's grass-court season continues. She is scheduled to compete in the Berlin Tennis Open, where she is part of the qualifying draw.

Her opponent, Iva Jovic, was dominant from start to finish, securing her spot in the tournament's quarterfinals. Prior to the HSBC Championships, Eala had been performing well. She recently won the WTA 125 Birmingham Open championship and then participated in a WTA 500 tournament, where she defeated Zhang Shuai with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
