New York Knicks Fil-Am guard Jordan Clarkson is on the verge of becoming the first player with Filipino blood to win an NBA championship.
Clarkson made it clear that he is more prepared now compared to his first NBA Finals appearance.
He first played in the NBA Finals in 2018 as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. At that time, his playing time was very limited, and the Cavaliers were swept by the Golden State Warriors, 4-0.
In that series, Clarkson saw action in only two games, averaging three points and 12.6 minutes of playing time.
In the current NBA Finals, where the Knicks lead the San Antonio Spurs 3-1, Clarkson has contributed more.
"Well, for me, I feel more prepared, being able to experience the finals at a young age, and now being 12 years in the league, definitely a different me, I've changed a lot, so definitely feels different," Clarkson said, as published on www.abs-cbnnews.com.
Although he is not among the Knicks' top rotation players, Clarkson is able to help during the minutes he is on the court.
Clarkson explained that even though the Knicks are on the verge of a championship, his feelings have not changed, and as usual, he continues to prepare for the time when his services are needed on the court.
"Just staying prepared for the moment. Staying my same routine work. It hasn't changed for me. Staying locked in. You know it's been the same thing everyday. For all of us. Just come here trying to make an impact when I get the opportunity. Stay with it," said Clarkson, who is now on the doorstep of becoming the first player with Filipino blood to win an NBA title.
