Power 40 secured the second and final automatic semifinal slot after defeating Hoopers, 63-46, in the main game on Saturday, June 13, 2026, following the elimination round of the Power 60 Friendship Cup basketball tournament at the Pardo Sports Complex in Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City.
Power 40 followed in the footsteps of Mandaue Ball Club, which was the first to claim an automatic semifinal spot after registering a perfect 6-0 record in the elimination round of this seven-team tournament.
Power 40 was initially tied in a triple tie with a 4-2 record alongside Pardo Ball Club (PBC) and Lagtang Basketball Gold (LBG), but they prevailed after breaking the tie via the Olympic quotient system, securing the second spot.
LBG, which defeated FUBA 99-60 in another game, settled for third place, while PBC, which defeated Talisay Basketball Association (TBA) 77-56 in another match, took fourth place. LBG, PBC, Hoopers (2-4), and FUBA (1-5) will continue to compete in the quarterfinals next Saturday to claim the remaining two semifinal spots.
TBA (1-5) was the first to exit the tournament, which is for senior citizens.
